One monthly Goal September

My workflow has been pretty rubbish recently.  I was doing so well earlier this year, but since July it has been going downhill, and since August it has been absolute rubbish.  I'm calling a halt, time to get my mojo back and stop being a butterfly, going from one thing to another, not finishing anything.

At the beginning of the year I decided I was going to concentrate on getting rid of some UFO's, that I wouldn't start anything until I had finished two things, well that's gone out of the window hasn't it!

This month I am setting one monthly goal, to finish my circles quilt.  Here is a reminder of my progress to date:

All the blocks are finished and sewn together, it still needs the borders, layer, quilt, and bind.

I am also pledging not to start any more new quilts this year, although I will be making a couple of advent calendars for gifts and maybe some small Christmas items, but they are quick and easy stuff and I will time limit them.  That sound alright to you?

So to make this official so to speak I am linking up with Heidi at Red Letter Quilts One Monthly Goal

That feels better already.

  1. Kate, The addition of gray diamonds formed between the circles is nice! Good luck on meeting your goal! Now, not starting any new quilts for the rest of the year would be hard for me! :)

  2. Well Kate: I'm happy to see you back blogging again. I missed you. Your circle quilt is looking great. It's so colourful and like Paige I think the grey diamonds are smashing. I like the flitting butterfly image you used in this post. I'm a butterfly. It sounds so calm.

  5. I love your bright circles and am looking forward to see it quilted! As Karen above, I find it hard not to finish anything new)) I planned to quilt 6 (small) tops in August, finished only 4, but pieced a couple of blocks for a new one))

  7. It's so pretty, Kate! I have the habit of starting too many projects, too. So many ideas, so little time to make them all happen. Good luck with your finish!

  8. You'll get this done, Kate, I know you will! And when you do, you'll find your missing mojo. You have my permission to start and stop anything you like because everything you do is wonderful, like this circles quilt which is simply gorgeous!

  9. Excellent goal because you can do it! When my mojo wanes, I turn to smaller projects to jump start my engine. And sometimes, I just pull out my scraps and start trying out those blocks I always wanted to try but was too busy to stop and do. XO

  10. Good luck with that Kate! I cannot stop starting new things - not usually quilts though! And like Emily said, "So many ideas, so little time ...."! There are so many things I want to make! I'm sure you'll find your mojo and finish your quilt soon.

  14. Love the circle quilt, it's bright and fun. If it makes you feel any better, you aren't the only one who got off track on finishing UFOs. Good luck with both your September OMG and your goals for the rest of the year.

  20. I think this is an excellent goal. I do love the bright colors in each circle. I wish I could be disciplined enough to not start anything new, but I distract so easily...just ask my pile of to-be quilted UFO's.
